Description

The White House, the home of our nation's President and a major historic site, is available for tours on a limited basis. Without going on a tour however, one can see the building from across its large green lawn or walk to the rear and view it from Lafayette Park. This building has the prestige of being the most highly secured building in the world and is a beautiful Georgian style mansion.

Visiting the White house requires a request to be sent to one's Member of Congress and are accepted up to six months in advance. These are for self-guided tours and stopping by the White House Visitor Center which does not require a ticket will make the tour far more informative. The Visitor's Center displays information on many aspects of the White House including its architecture, furnishings, first families, social events, and relations with the press and world leaders. There is also a thirty-minute video.
