The Pentagon building is the Headquarters of the Department of Defense. It is an impressive building as it is one of the world's largest office buildings having three times the floor space of the Empire State Building. The Pentagon is practically a city in itself with approximately 23,000 employees come to work there every day. This building is also thought of as one of the most efficient office buildings in the world because it has 17.5 miles of corridors but it only takes seven minutes at most to walk between any two points in the building.

Visiting The Pentagon is unfortunately only available to friends and family of Pentagon employees and to educational, government, or military groups. The tour consists of a group walking tour that is approximately 60 minutes and includes walking about one and a half miles. Assistance to individuals who are physically challenged is available. Tours can be reserved up to 3 months in advance and a minimum of two weeks notice prior to the proposed tour date is required.
