Description

The National Museum of Women in the Arts, located near the White House, is the world's only museum dedicated exclusively to recognizing the contributions of women artists. In the 19 years since its opening, the National Museum of Women in the Arts has aimed at the comprehensive study of women artists and has been quite successful. The museum is home to three levels of visual art by women, an extensive library of research materials related to women's studies, and a performance hall and auditorium.

The permanent collection is comprised of more than 3,000 works and provides a broad study of art by women from the 16th century to the present. The museum's collection continues to grow and work in the collection represents a wide range of styles and forms.

Hours:
10 am - 5 pm Monday-Saturday, noon - 5 pm Sunday, closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day
