Description

The National Museum of American History collects artifacts of all kinds from all areas of American life. Here, one can find anything from wardrobes and furniture from the 1800's to military relics, photography, old coins, locomotives, popular entertainment, science, and politics. An effort has been made to collect memories and artifacts that show and represent all that America has stood for and gone through in its history since colonization.

The museum is located along the National Mall and is part of the Smithsonian collection. It is well known for its lively and unique temporary exhibits ranging from Jim Henson's Muppets to the lives and roles of First Ladies.
